ALIAS (Article License Information Availability Service) contains all of the journal holdings and licensing information from IDS Project member libraries. Based on journal holdings (both electronic and print) and licensing information, ALIAS develops a list of lending libraries that can fill borrowing article requests within the IDS Project membership.
Generally, most libraries have an automatic publishing profile setup from their journal knowledge base (ex: SerialSolutions, EBSCO journal finder, Alma) to IDS that updates the ALIAS holdings on a regular basis.
Note: ALIAS is technically a separate tool from IDS Logic but it's very integrated in the workflow so it's included in this documentation.
